AI role-playing will be the new training norm
Role-play against AI - you see why it works
AI is your perfect role-play companion, from personal assistant to devils advocate.

Have you ever done role-play training at work or school? It is the go-to type of training for instructional programs and classroom experiences. Like that team workshop where you assume roles and play against each other.
Why is this a common training form? Well, simply put, it is because role-plays just work. They rely on us humans assuming a role, playing against each other, and you do not have a scripted outcome—it is the most human form of training.
Let me introduce you to using AI in order to role-play train.
AI tools are role-plays by default
Ever got bad results from any AI? It is because the tool doesn't have your complete context. Instead of asking your favourite AI tool questions, why not reverse the role and request the AI to ask you questions, to better understand you.
E.g: Instead of prompting «I need to get the margin between X no. and based on X no.», do the following.
Tell the AI to ask you 5 questions about what you want to achieve, giving them one by one. Then answer these as best you can. Only then ask for your wanted result.
You'll be amazed by the difference.
Which is basically you role-playing with the AI instead of just using it like a search and retrieve.
This proves the models are really good by default when role-playing.
Open-ended without any personal agenda
The beauty of AI is that it doesn't hold any grudges or personal agenda, it is a "cold" objective tool that produces the same warmth, immersion and benefits from any role-play training.
It is the perfect match between the benefits of training difficult conversations, without the hassle of having to deal with the awkwardness of us not being actors. It can assume that actor role and be anything.
All it takes is a few magic tricks to make it work:
A setting or scenario
Description of the actor you want to role-play against
You assuming a role and sticking to that role
From there, the story takes an open-ended form. You will be surprised by how realistic it is.
The immediate benefits
AI role-playing retains most of the benefits from our familiar form of role-play training. But it adds a few bonuses:
It completely removes social anxiety. Forget about what the other person thinks of you
Instant feedback - right on what is called the learn-then-adjust loop
Adapts to your level of experience and your pacing
Personal analysis - done by AI summaries, deals with blind spots all of us humans are prone to
